# Pinball > A 3D pinball table that runs entirely in the browser. An independent reimplementation of the > published physics and conventions of a pinball machine - not of any commercial machine. Site: https://pinball.skillsafe.ai/ ## What it is Pinball, the game, in real 3D: an inclined playfield, a spring plunger, three top rollover lanes, a pop bumper nest, two slingshots, two 3-inch flippers over a drain with an inlane and an outlane either side, a ramp that climbs to a raised deck, a wireform that returns the ball to the right inlane, a three-target drop bank, a lock saucer and three-ball multiball, and a plumb-bob tilt. No commercial machine's playfield, artwork, rules or trade dress is reproduced. The layout, shot names, scoring and art are this app's own. ## What is unusual about the physics - The ball is on an INCLINED PLANE. Gravity splits into a pull toward the drain and a press onto the wood, and a freely rolling ball accelerates at g sin(pitch) / (1 + 2/5). - A ball leaving the plunger or a flipper SLIDES before it ROLLS, with a closed-form transition. - The POP BUMPERS ARE SOLENOIDS. A position switch fires a coil, so the impulse is set by the coil and not by the approach speed: the slowest ball measured leaves about ten times faster than it arrived. No restitution model can do that. - The FLIPPER IS A TORQUE-DRIVEN ROTATING BODY with its own moment of inertia, so a tip strike leaves nearly four times faster than a base strike at the same bat rate. - TILT IS A PHYSICAL PENDULUM hanging through a ring, not a nudge counter. Nudges that land in step with its swing add; nudges that land against it cancel. ## How it was verified An event-driven analytic solver (closed-form contact times, with a Ferrari quartic root solver) checked against the fixed-step integrator; the playfield pitch recovered from a track of emitted ball positions alone; energy accounting while rolling; and six controls that are wrong by construction and are required to fail. Every number printed on the page is re-measured from the engine by the page harness. ## Pages - / : the table, the help panel, the mechanism notes, the limits list and the credits - /CREDITS.txt : sources with URLs, what is sourced vs derived vs calibrated, and the corrections - /LICENSE.txt : MIT ## Privacy Client-side only.
